Data Protection

Northwich and District Canine Society

One of the biggest changes to UK data privacy law comes into effect on 25th May 2018.

The General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR, is a really positive step towards you having more control over how your data is used and how you're contacted. The changes will also help to better protect your personal data.

To comply with the current legislation on data protection we must tell you what personal data we hold about you, why we hold it and have your permission to retain it.

We securely store data about members to ensure we can contact them by mail, telephone or email:

• In an emergency

• To inform you of meetings (e.g. A.G.M.)

• To inform you of Show dates or Club Activities

• As required by the Kennel Club for Annual Returns, Show entries etc.

Any data we hold will not be provided to any other person or business except as required by law.

You may request to see all personal data we hold on you (we are allowed 30 days to provide it). We only keep your data for the reasons outlined above. We destroy your data if we have had no contact with you for 5 years.

For the smooth and efficient running of our Society we need to keep a record of:

• Your name

• Your address

• Your landline and where applicable, your mobile telephone numbers

• Your email address

All information is stored on the secretary’s computer which is password protected

If you wish to opt out of any of the above please contact the secretary:
